Suunnittelu: Charles ja Ray Eames, 1945
Konsepti: Tämä legendaarinen muotoilu vuodelta 1945 on alun perin suunniteltu vanerista. Ainoastaan kaksi prototyyppiä valmistettiin, jotka olivat esillä Museum of Modern Artissa New Yorkissa.
Jokaisella on oma taustansa vastaavassa teollisen huonekalusuunnittelun (Charles) ja taiteen (Ray) he tapasivat vuonna 1940 Cranbrook Academy of Artissa Detroitissa. Vuonna 1941 he menivät naimisiin ja alkoivat kokeilla kolmiulotteista muotokuormitettua vaneria tavoitteenaan tuottaa edullisia ja mukavia tuoleja. Toisen maailmansodan vuoksi heidän kokeellinen työnsä keskeytettiin ja sitä jatkettiin vasta vuonna 1946, kun he esittelivät huonekalusuunnitelmistaan näyttelyn Museum of Modern Artissa (MoMA) New Yorkissa. Sen jälkeen se lähti liikkeelle. He tekivät sopimuksen The Herman Miller Companyn kanssa, joka aloitti heidän huonekalujensa valmistuksen.
