Design: Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec for Vitra
Concept: The Belleville chair is an extremely modern chair designed by Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec for Vitra. It consists of two components, a frame and a seat shell. The frame is of a slim black structure that follows the lines of the legs and back, and supports the thin seat shell. The shell thins out from the wide seat surface to a narrow backrest, which creates the chair's characteristic silhouette. This construction is made of plastic, which gives a unique aesthetic and makes the chair light and easy to move around as needed. The identity of the Belleville chair is defined by its seat shell, which gives the chair its unique appearance.
