Design: Sika Design
Concept: Sika-Design presents Machiya, a beautiful and handmade collection designed by Jin Kuramoto in 2020. The name "Machiya" is taken from the traditional townhouses found all over Japan. Terraced houses that are built side by side, which make use of the space as efficiently as possible, as well as characteristic vertical wooden slats on the facades. Through beautiful lines and a practical storage shelf, these characteristics are implemented in the Machiya furniture. The bench is made of powder-coated aluminum, which is braided with Sika-Design ArtFibre. ArtFibre is a durable and weather-resistant material made of polyethylene. The chairs can therefore withstand both rain, frost and the sun's UV radiation, and can be left outside all year round without affecting the design or quality.
