Design: Sika Design
Concept: Sika-Design introduces the elegant Chill Armchair and accompanying footstool, designed by Nanna Ditzel in late summer 1961. Chill is almost a sculptural installation that elegantly integrates into the surroundings. The armchair and footstool have an organic design language with minimalist features that invite pure relaxation. Ditzel originally called the chair the Kaminstolen, and it was used in her private holiday home for over 40 years. Created by skilled basket makers in sustainable rattan material, it is a piece of craftsmanship that can be seen and felt in every detail. Rattan is often compared to bamboo, but unlike bamboo which is hollow, rattan is a solid material. This makes rattan furniture remarkably strong and able to last for generations.
