Tempel on yksi Piet Heinin arvoituksellisimmista luomuksista. Toisin kuin monet muut ikoniset valaisimet, Tempel ei löydetty luonnosten tai prototyyppien kautta, vaan se on luotu uudelleen muutamien valokuvien ja Piet Heinin nuorimman pojan, Hugo Piet Heinin, jakamien muistojen pohjalta. Alkuperäinen 1960-luvulla luotu valaisin oli valmistettu puusta, mutta nykyään Tempel on tulkittu uudelleen alumiinina – materiaalina, joka sekä korostaa valaisimen veistoksellista ilmettä että säilyttää alkuperäisen ajatuksen yksinkertaisuudesta ja eleganssista. Tempel ei siis ole vain valaisin, vaan pala tanskalaista muotoiluhistoriaa, joka on herätetty lempeästi henkiin Piet Heinin visiota ja käsityötaitoa kunnioittaen.
