Moooi Smoke Dining Chair Black

Concept: When it comes to being innovative and different, Moooi is one of the best in the business. By approaching the way in which a chair can be produced with completely different perspectives, Moooi has created the Smoke dining table chair in collaboration with Maarten Bass. At first glance, this chair appears to be quite normal. But when you get closer, you can clearly see exactly how different the interesting and innovative design is. The entire wooden frame of the Smoke chair has been burned off with fire to create the very special pattern in the wood, which can only be achieved by burning it.

Although the chair has been burned in the manufacturing process, it has been treated with epoxy resin that frames and preserves the beautiful details that occur during the burning of the chair. The treatment also helps to strengthen the chair and make it impossible for the burnt wood to rub off on clothes or the like.

Since the manufacturing process of the Smoke chair is so different, each individual Smoke chair will also be completely unique. This means that it cannot be guaranteed that every single chair will look the same. However, this just adds another layer of admirable uniqueness to the already special design.
