Ensimmäisen valaisimen esittelivät jo Elio Martinelli ja Gae Aulenti vuonna 1965, Aulenti valaisimen pääsuunnittelijana toi iloa jo silloin. Valaisin nauttii edelleen suurta tunnustusta ja sitä valmistetaan edelleen uusissa koossa ja väreissä. Lampuissa on monia erilaisia ominaisuuksia, vaikka ne näyttävät samalta. Pöytävalaisin on saanut nimensä lepakosta, koska inspiraatio tulee eläimen siivistä. Valaisin on saatavana valkoisena, tummanruskeana ja sinivihreänä.
