Design: Bent Karlby for LYFA, 1970
Concept: PAN 50
When the PAN series was originally designed in the 1970s, Bent Karlby drew inspiration from Pop-Art which was a very popular style at the time. This meant that the original PAN lamps were colored on the inside. After LYFA's relaunch of the series, the inside has been replaced with a monochrome colored aluminum surface which gives a simpler and elegant expression.
The PAN series is a good example of a very simple, but visually very impressive Desing.
The pendant is composed of twelve aluminum tubes, which gives this pendant a special incredible expression. The wall lights consist of one aluminum tube, which when switched off looks very simple, but when switched on they emit a beautiful warm up-and-down ward light. The wall lights are available in two sizes, the short and wide version
PAN 95, and the narrow and long
