Design: Marcel Gascoin, 1949
Concept: This armchair from GUBI is inspired by the original drawings from Marcel Gascoin, and manufactured in collaboration with Gascoin's family. The armchair is a daring statement about the convenience and comfort of the post-war period. The soft curve of the backrest gently crosses the graceful lines of the wooden chair to create a silhouette that is at once futuristic and timeless. In the renewal process, it has required a great deal of craftsmanship to produce the iconic hind legs that flow beautifully with the backrest. In the process, GUBI has simultaneously optimized the chair's ergonomics and choice of material to suit modern times and can even be used outdoors.
GUBI's outdoor version of the F-Chair is a rethinking of the stunning design. In this outdoor version, the classic silhouette is made of durable and naturally durable teak, weather-resistant braid of HDPE wicker and stainless steel screws that ensure a long life and an extremely durable material choice. By constantly reinventing well-known models and products in new areas, GUBI strives to maintain its ability to surprise and excite.
