Design: Rodolfo Dordoni for Foscarini

Concept:

In the 1990s, Rodolfo Dordoni developed a collection of table lamps for Foscarini in coloured blown glass. Buds are named after the natural elements such as fruit and flower buds.The collection has been re-designed and has a sophisticated look that mirror current trends and focuses heavily on the materials. The design is made of blown glass in a 5-step handmade process and in brand new colours. Buds have a double effect; the lamp has a warm look when it's on, but appears colder when it's turned off. The table lamp has a diffuse light as the inner glass layer has a pale yellow colour to make the light warmer and the colour more intense. The warm white version appears to have an ivory shade to it when the light is on and remains white when turned off. The base is a fully transparent cylinder, coated with a hand-painted and glossy finish.Buds 1 comes in the brown and warm white. Buds 2 is available in gray and warm white. Buds 3 comes in green and warm white.
