Design: Alvar Aalto in 1935 for artek
Concept: The 66 dining table chair is a nice and comfortable wide chair. The chair is designed for use in kitchens, cafés, receptions, lounges and other places where a wide and comfortable backrest is particularly welcome. The seat and legs are made of solid birch wood, while the backrest is made of molded birch veneer, which is attached to the legs with visible bolts. In addition to acting as a comfortable support, the backrest is also designed with a built-in "handle" which makes it easier to move the chairs around the home. The designer behind: You can not say Artek without also saying Alvar Aalto. The Finnish-born architect and designer was a large part of Artek, and is also behind a larger part of Artek's most well-known furniture and lamp designs. Alvar Aalto experimented in the late 1920s with various forms of innovative manufacturing methods, which also resulted in the creation of the now world-famous' L-leg '' which today can be found on up to 36 artek products such as the three-legged 60 stool, or the larger four-legged E60 stool.
