Foku is a lounge chair with full upholstery, inspired by the shapes of traditional Japanese garden tools. Foku, meaning "fork" in Japanese, refers to the traditional raking implements that have been used for centuries in Japanese Zen gardens. The fork, which is used to delicately create minimalist lines and waves in the sand, is reinterpreted in the fluted seat design of the Foku chair. Several layers of carefully selected foam are combined to ensure a soft and extremely comfortable sitting experience, while at the same time emphasizing the sculptural and voluminous shapes of the chair. The Foku chair can be combined in several units to create a sofa-lounge. Each Foku chair includes two metal brackets that can be mounted under the legs with a small screw.
