AndLight in Residence Each year, AndLight visits a new city to engage with local interior design communities. This year, we welcomed Berlin’s design scene to the gallery Better Go South , in collaboration with their in-house artist, Mühi . Together, we furnished the gallery with curated design pieces from selected brands and combined them with Mühi’s beautiful artworks in a unique exhibition. Over two inspiring days, AndLight and Mühi hosted a series of events featuring design talks by Nuura , Made by Hand , Gubi , and Fritz Hansen , offering deep insights into their brand stories and craftsmanship. Mühi also shared her perspective on lighting and interiors, alongside the inspiration behind her stunning paintings, which added another layer to the exhibition. Throughout the event, our community was invited to explore the thoughtfully curated exhibition space, designed by Rebecca Goddard . Shop the exhibition here The chandelier from Nuura As guests entered the gallery, they stepped into a grand, almost ballroom-like space with intricate stucco details. A room like this calls for a carefully chosen chandelier—one that enhances both the architecture and the ambiance. Naturally, we selected the Petalii Chandelier from Nuura , whose romantic details complemented the ornate stucco beautifully. To complete the space, we added the Petalii floor lamp, mirroring the chandelier’s elegance. The Nuura Anoli and Blossi portables were also placed throughout the room, adding warmth and flexibility to the lighting. Together, these elements created a welcoming and atmospheric setting for the event. Explore Nuura Decorative lighting from Made by Hand At AndLight, we believe that lighting is more than just functional—it’s fundamental to the entire atmosphere of a space. Without the right lighting, the rest of the interior cannot be fully appreciated or experienced. That’s why we carefully curated a layered lighting design, incorporating fixtures at different heights to enhance the depth and dimension of the exhibition. We chose the Knit-Wit floor lamps and the Mollis Pendant from Made by Hand , whose sculptural, knitted design added texture while casting soft, diffused light—perfectly complementing the exhibition’s curated aesthetic. Their organic shapes and warm glow created a natural flow between art and interior. To further enrich the space, we incorporated the Core lamp and Petite Machine , each contributing distinct character and contrast. Together, these elements elevated the exhibition, ensuring every detail was illuminated and experienced in its full depth. Explore Made by Hand Quality furniture from Gubi The curated exhibition also featured carefully selected furniture from Gubi , creating distinct yet cohesive living, dining, and hall areas. Each space was thoughtfully designed to showcase high-quality craftsmanship while inviting guests to experience the pieces in a natural setting. In the living area, the Pacha Sofa and Doric Coffee Table set the tone for a warm and inviting atmosphere—an ideal place to relax among beautiful design. The dining area echoed this sense of harmony, with rich marble surfaces tying the spaces together. Here, the Epic Dining Table and Beetle Dining Chairs created an elegant yet approachable setting, perfect for gathering and conversation. Finally, the hall-like area introduced a more dramatic contrast with the TS Console Table in dark marble, lending a bold, masculine touch. Paired with a darker-colored Pacha Chair, this space balanced sophistication with comfort, completing the exhibition’s layered and thoughtfully curated design. Explore Gubi Amplifying the room’s legacy with Fritz Hansen The stucco details tell a story of history and legacy, a space shaped by craftsmanship and design that lasts for decades—much like the Danish brand Fritz Hansen . Iconic pieces, like the Kaiser Idell and Clam lamps, were carefully placed to add sophistication and heritage, complementing the intricate stucco on the ceiling. To bring warmth and depth, we added glass vases in clear and dark green tones, offering a cozy, organic touch. The Ikebana vases in various sizes added a minimalist element, balancing the overall decor. Together, these pieces created a welcoming atmosphere, blending warmth, elegance, and a tribute to the room's rich history. Explore Fritz Hansen The interior came together as a carefully curated space where high-end lighting, furniture, and accessories seamlessly blended to create a cozy and inviting atmosphere. The intention was simple: to offer the local community a place where interior design and the art of Mühi could spark meaningful conversations, inspiring a deeper connection between the two. Each piece was chosen to not only complement the space but also to tell a story, inviting guests to pause, reflect, and explore the intersection of design and creativity. |
